HOW TO STYLE WIDE LEG PANTS

pants

After the soar in popularity of skin tight bottoms of the late naughts and early tens, the later half of the decade saw a shift towards looser and frankly waaay more comfortable wide leg silhouette.

There are endless reasons why you should love them – they elongate the legs, accentuate the waist, always look extra chic even though they are usually as comfortable as your favorite pair of snuggly pajamas, etc. Not only that, but they are very easy to style.

SUIT UP IN STYLE

Nothing says style goddess like a wide leg pant suit or set. We got a dash of 70’s fabulousness, a touch of elegance in the structure and a little bit of sass that shines through movement as you walk. Because when you know you look good, you should strut with style too!

BILLOWY SILHOUETTES

The good ol’ style rulebook states that if you are going with wide cut on the bottom, you should go with a tight garment at the top and vice versa… forget that! Why settle for just one cool piece when pairing the two bring so much more drama, attention and fun to your look. Modern day power girls leave the cookie-cutter pretty lady fashion rules in the fifties and charge on with outfits that demand attention.

CLASSY BUT CASUAL

Just because the wide leg pants have certain air of elegance to them, that doesn’t mean they don’t work with some more laid back pieces. If the common high street fashion casual wear feels a bit too casual, wide leg pants are a fantastic way to stay comfy and true to your style at the same time.

THE MONOCHROME TREND

Choosing a single color for your head-to-toe look is a trend that exploded all over runways a few seasons ago and it looks like it’s here to stay for at least a little while longer. Whilst it is up to you whether you’ll go matchy-matchy to the max with the same shade or dance around the light and dark varieties, creating looks by the monochrome agenda is, if anything, ridiculously easy as all you need to do is stick to the colors that look like they can share a name.

THE COOL CROP

For some reason, wide leg pants and ankle length are not regularly put together. We have culottes and the full – length variety, but this golden medium can be just as great, especially if you are not a fan of your hemline sweeping the city’s streets. Although, truth be told, this cut does not have the same lengthening effect as the regular one, opting for a shorter variety is something different worth exploring.

Which style is the most likely to make you strut?

As always, I’d looove to see it in the comments!
